Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Russia from July 8 to 9 for the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit. The visit is considered crucial for Russian-Indian relations and is expected to be very important and full-fledged, according to Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov. The leaders will discuss various issues of mutual interest and engage in informal talks. This will be Modi’s first visit to Russia in nearly five years, with the last annual summit taking place in New Delhi in December 2021. The summit serves as the highest institutional dialogue mechanism between the two countries.

According to details revealed by Peskov, the schedule for the visit will be extensive, considering the level of relations between the two countries, the volume of trade and economic cooperation, and the role of India and Russia in regional and international affairs. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Modi will hold negotiations in both narrow and expanded formats. There is also a possibility of informal discussions between the heads of the two countries.

The negotiations between Putin and Modi are expected to be very productive, with a rich agenda, as emphasized by Peskov. The strategic partnership between Russia and India, along with their significant trade and economic cooperation, as well as their roles in regional and international affairs, contribute to the importance of the upcoming talks. The Kremlin hopes that the visit will provide an opportunity for the leaders to communicate in an informal setting.

The official visit of the Indian Prime Minister to Russia will take place on July 8-9. It is anticipated to be a significant and comprehensive visit, further strengthening Russian-Indian relations.
