Pakistan has test-fired a ballistic missile amidst escalating tensions with neighboring India. The missile, known as the Abdali Weapon System, was successfully launched as part of a training exercise. It has a range of 450km and is capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear warheads. The test aimed to ensure troop readiness and validate key technical parameters. Pakistan’s President and Prime Minister congratulated the individuals involved in the successful missile test. The launch occurred three days after Pakistan claimed to have credible intelligence suggesting that India planned to launch a military strike. Tensions between the two countries have been high due to conflicts in the disputed region of Kashmir. Both India and Pakistan claim the entire Kashmir region but govern different parts of it. The attack in Kashmir last month has further strained relations, with India accusing Pakistan of supporting the attack and vowing to pursue those responsible. Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff emphasized the importance of heightened vigilance and proactive readiness. Since the attack, both countries have engaged in diplomatic disputes, expulsions, and border closures. The international community is urging both countries to exercise restraint and engage in dialogue to resolve their differences peacefully.
