In a tragic accident in Mexico, three Australian surfers lost their lives while trying to prevent the theft of their pickup truck’s tires. The incident, which occurred in Baja California, highlights the dangers of traveling and the importance of personal safety precautions. According to Baja California state officials, the victims were identified as two men and a woman. Their families are devastated by the loss, describing it as a heartbreaking accident.

In other news, heavy rainfall in certain areas of Rio Grande do Sul (RS) has exceeded the average predicted for five months. Fontoura Xavier and Caxias do Sul experienced the highest accumulations during this period, with 778 mm and 694 mm respectively, according to data from Cemaden, as reported by G1.

Meanwhile, UOL Confere brings us images of the devastating flood in RS. The Colorado team’s training center and stadium were completely flooded, causing significant damage. Inter’s training center, Parque Gigante, located near the banks of the Guaíba River, was severely affected. The team has requested a suspension of their games for 20 days. Grêmio’s stadium, the Arena, also suffered from the flood, with the field almost completely covered by water. In Eldorado do Sul, one of the most affected municipalities, around 80 people, including players and staff, were stranded and receiving food supplies by air at the base training center. The Salgado Filho Airport has been heavily impacted as well.

As we reflect on these events, it is a reminder of the unpredictable nature of life and the importance of being prepared for unforeseen circumstances. Our thoughts go out to the families and friends of the Australian surfers who tragically lost their lives, as well as to the people affected by the devastating flood in RS. May they find strength and support during these difficult times.
