Tensions in the Middle East have escalated following two separate incidents reported by the US Central Command on Saturday. According to the US Central Command, a tanker off the coast of India was hit by a drone from Iran, while two Houthi anti-ship ballistic missiles were fired from Yemen into international shipping lanes in the Southern Red Sea.

The tanker, M/V Saibaba, was bound for India and had Indians on board. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the tanker sent out a distress call to a US ship in the area. While no ships were impacted by the ballistic missiles, the incidents highlight the ongoing tensions in the region and the potential threats to maritime security.

The incident involving the attack drone was reported by NDTV, which stated that the drone was fired by Yemen’s Houthi rebels in the Red Sea. In a separate incident, Economic Times reported that the Sports Ministry has suspended the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) after the formation of a new body within the WFI, which was not recognized by the Ministry. The new body, called the ‘Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) – Wrestling Association of India (WAI),’ was formed by a group of wrestlers who were dissatisfied with the functioning of the existing WFI.

The suspension of the WFI means that the federation will not be able to organize any wrestling events or participate in any international competitions. The Sports Ministry has stated that it will conduct an inquiry into the matter and take appropriate action based on the findings.

The incidents in the Middle East and the suspension of the WFI have sparked a debate within the wrestling community, with some supporting the formation of the new body and others expressing concerns about the impact it may have on the sport. As the situation unfolds, the wrestling fraternity and fans eagerly await further updates and clarification from the Sports Ministry and the WFI.
